This month, ASBIS Africa proudly celebrates a remarkable dual milestone – 20 years of service from two of our most dedicated and inspiring team members: Elsie Woods, Head of Operations and Planning, and Sheilla Jimmi, Credit Controller. Their journeys, while unique, are united by a shared spirit of resilience, growth, and unwavering commitment to the ASBIS family.
Elsie Woods: A Legacy of Leadership and Vision
Elsie’s journey began two decades ago in key account management, where her talent for building strong client relationships quickly set her apart. Her passion for leadership led her to the role of Sales Manager, where she inspired teams and fostered a high-performance culture that helped drive ASBIS Africa’s growth.
As Product Manager, Elsie embraced strategic planning and market research, playing a pivotal role in expanding our footprint across South Africa. Today, as Head of Operations and Planning, she continues to lead with vision, focusing on operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
Reflecting on her journey, Elsie shares:

Sheilla Jimmi: A Journey of Quiet Strength and Growth
Sheilla joined ASBIS in July 2005 as a Credit Controller, bringing precision, care, and a calm presence to her role. Over the years, she became a steady force through the company’s many changes, always ready to give her best.
Among her fondest memories is a 2011 incentive trip to Zanzibar a moment of joy shared with colleagues, including her longtime teammate, Elsie. In 2023, Sheilla embraced a bold new chapter by joining a newly independent ASBIS team, a move that sparked tremendous personal and professional growth.
“We had to take a few steps back,” she reflects, “but what I have learnt and what I understand now, I have grown in leaps and bounds.”
As she approaches retirement, Sheilla remains deeply connected to ASBIS’s future:
“I pray that ASBIS continues to grow in leaps and bounds and enjoy every success and opportunity that comes their way.”
